Almost died okay.
Seriously.
Dahlah car out of commission.
Then one phone.
Then second phone.
Then i got sick.
And THEN i almost didn’t get to go to Perhentian cos we couldn’t book any rooms beforehand and heard they’re all full!!!
I was thinking, “Shit… this sucks…”
At this point i was standing in the hot sun on the way back from the doctor’s, unsuccessfully trying to hail a cab
All of us were frantically calling each other trying to find a jalan to avoid cancellation of trip
And all the while, i was trying not to use the phone (i borrowed) cos Fran forgot to pass me the charger
0_o’
Looking listlessly at the empty road, i waited for a flash of red and white to come, while thinking
You know what. I bet after we cancel this trip, and i tell people about it, people will be coming up to me going “Oh, why didn’t you tell me!? My uncle/brother/sister/hamster works as the manager in Bubu!” or “Oh, you should have asked me! I own a villa there!”
Sure one. Sure oneeeee….
Then my holidate canceled on me with the words, “No, i’ve been there during peak season and done the whole back and forth thing between islands. I really don’t want to do it again… not with the risk that the guy i called said it’s all fully booked.”
Even when i thought, “That’s it la. No beach,” i was still very optimistic and la la la
Someone called back
We got rooms!
PHEW
“You know why, most of the people on the island are malay okay… so ——- has some friends working there and they just booked the rooms for us. I’d think for you guys, you’re not malay so a bit hard.”
