Having attended the H&M Home Media Preview, I was excited to finally see the full range of products in store. However, I was running late and only got to the event at 9PM (it started at 7:30!) and to no surprise…
… there was hardly anyone left. Darn it.
Trust H&M to provide pretty centrepieces!
Alright, now on to the gifts that the H&M gods have bestowed upon us mere mortals!
Beautiful illustrations such as these were featured on a lot of products from textiles to crockery.
I’d get these wooden boxes in a heartbeat if I knew what to use them for.
100% pure linen robes and gorgeous bedding textiles.
A more muted colour palette for the sophisticated individual.
And the more colourful spread guaranteed to excite kids or the young at heart!
I’ve never been a fan of candles but Iย nearlyย bought these wire candlesticks. Nearly.
Overall I was not disappointed at all. I think H&M Home has brought a breath of fresh air for homeware shopping in KL and also providing good quality at a super affordable price.
Without realising, I had walked the entire space several times and amassed quite a number of items in my shopping bag. I rushed to the counter to prevent further damage and that alarming panic faded away quickly as I watched all my new shiny items being put away into the pretty paper bag. I left H&M happy and satisfied but my afterglow didn’t last long as it dawned on me that I have reached that age where homeware shopping brings me the same excitement that was once only possible with a new Nintendo. Yikes.
Check out H&M Home in Avenue K now!

H&M Home Media Preview
(initially published 16th July 2014)
It seemed like the stars had aligned perfectly when I was asked to cover the H&M Home Media Preview; as I am currently in the midst of an agonising moving process, and seemed to be faced with, for lack of a better term, decorating constipation.
Decorating a space, be it only one room or an entire house, is a daunting task, especially if you don’t have an idea of what you want; or in my case, too many ideas. I was excited to see what new ideas H&M would be able to provide with the arrival of their new Home collection in Malaysia.
We were whisked off by a shuttle from Bangsar Shopping Centre at promptly 2pm last Wednesday and were delivered round the corner to Rhombus, where the event was held. A sleek elevator brought us right up to the 11th floor, which opened directly into the unit where everyone made their way into the immaculately decorated space whilst breaking into murmurs of delight.
The collection is described as “Clarity and Poetic Romance”; with the promise of texture, contrast, opulence and warmth; keeping in mind with H&M’s concept of “fashion and quality at the best price”.
The beautifully set up main/living area.
Loving the simplicity of these jewellery cases! And how cute are these storage boxes that are made to look like books?
I’ve never been one to fuss about crockery but these are just too cute!
Colourful cakes in Mason jars courtesy of Wondermilk. Those cute paper napkins will guarantee you’ll never have another boring party again!
Textiles were largely emphasised throughout the display, ranging from pillow cases to bedspreads, there is a style for just about everyone.
Some demure lace cushions, along with some fully sequinned ones that are guaranteed to add some pizzazz to any room.
Apart from lace and sequins, the one texture that really caught my attention were these scalloped faux leather cushions. Personally I find it edgy but at the same time fresh and fun.
Some of the available textiles on display. I love that they really strive to provide variety.
A more neutral colour palette, giving off a very cosy vibe.
This print is my absolute favourite out of all the textiles on display. The juxtaposition of the soft floral pattern with the dark colour palette really gives off a romantic and luxe vibe. Needless to say, I left feeling inspired and excited to see what else they have in store.
We were told that everything that was on display only consisted of a mere 30% of the full range. I’m absolutely giddy with excitement in anticipation!
H&M Home will be available to the public on the 25th of July at their Avenue K branch, just in the nick of time for Raya, and it will be the first outlet in Southeast Asia to carry it. Not too shabby, KL!
[…] finally happened. It only made sense. First it was homeware, then fashion, and now… […]
