A typical woman would use many beauty products across her lifetime. I have! The challenge of today seems to be that we’re spoilt for choice – shelves in pharmacies and skincare stores display dozens of brands to choose from. I don’t even know them all… Plus there are so many big brands out there that make all these amazing claims and promises, it’s hard to decipher which ones exaggerate their results!

When i just started buying skincare, i didn’t know much better and was kinda buying blindly – the ones that seemed to appeal to me the most, or whose packaging i liked best. I didn’t do much research, like how we all do nowadays. We definitely weren’t as internet-savvy 10 years ago as we are now!

The moisturizer you see in the video is the NEW Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. I’ve tried the previous generation of Olay Regenerist before this new one, so i was interested to see how testing the new one on the hand would turn out. I always find it easier to observe, cos lines on the hands are much more obvious than that on the face.

I think that the new Olay Regenerist has a lighter and smoother texture compared to the old one. What i still love about the cream is its scent – like you just took a long bath!

It’s quite obvious to see that i put the cream on my left hand, cos the lines are a lot less distinct there. I like how my skin feels thoroughly moisturized and smooth after applying the cream for my first time.

To test whether the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is really better than another moisturizer we’ll call Brand X, i tried a ‘Water Demo’ on it. The theory is that a good skin care product disperses easily in water. Because the main composition of our skin IS water, the more water-dispersed a product is, the deeper it can carry ingredients into the skin’s layers.

I started with two clean bottles filled with filtered water.

Then i inserted the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream into the left bottle, and Brand X into the right. Even before i’ve started to shake it, you can easily see how the left bottle is already getting cloudy on its own.

Quite amazing! Both bottles of water have got cloudy so they’re both good moisturizers, but you can easily see how there are bits of moisturizer that sticks to the top of the right bottle (Brand X) cos it didn’t get wholly dispersed. So the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream (on the left) is a better cream cos it really does disperse in water a lot easier!
