Don’t read this if you haven’t eaten

People always complain that they go cuckoo when they read my long food posts while they’re working late in the office, so i’m putting a giant disclaimer on this one = don’t! I’ve just had a lunch of pizza and salad myself and feel i want to eat right now too…

My parents and i went to try Private Kitchen in Uptown, which serves Hong Kong dishes. Three out of the four dishes were really good – seafood fried rice, simple tofu fried on the outside and soft on the inside, and lotus root salad pictured above. They’re also really large, which we didn’t anticipate so it’s a good place to go with a group of friends and won’t cost you much. I had to takeaway lots of food which i happily whacked within the next few days.

I went to Mezza9 for one of their tapas nights with Rudy LF one Monday, tho i heard they’ve changed it to Thursdays now. It’s a brill idea where there’s a yummy spread of over a dozen types of tapas and each one you pick costs anything between RM4-RM10. So you don’t have to order a big main dish when you’re busy drinking, and just take what you like, when you like. The one tapas you MUST try is the ‘dates wrapped in bacon’!

Clem took me to Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio @ Publika for dinner. The dishes taste as good as their presentation. Above is salad with foie gras, ham and chicken.

Another random lunch at Sage. Their 3-course menu is RM100 nett during lunch.

One of my favourite pastas in town is the Spicy Lamb Bolognaise at Vin’s. Some of their recipes are what i’d call Malaysian versions of Italian pastas – because it’s so pedas!

Their salmon on creamed spinach is one of my regular orders there too

Had dinner with Justin one night and we wanted to try somewhere new so we decided on Estilo @ Publika. It was quite value for $! We had two bottles of wine (we had a lot of catching up to do :p) and four tapas dishes, and paid RM130 each.

Lunch with Tianna! My favourite salad in KL is currently the pear and avocado one at Botanical in BV2.

Seafood dinner with the family one weekend at La La Chong. I love eating the savoury chili crab with piping hot man tau. It’s unbeatable.

Had a surprisingly great spicy seafood tom yam soup at Absolute Thai @ Sunway Giza! Every morsel of seafood in there was bouncy and fresh, and the soup was so freakishly spicy it made me cough. Awesome.

Yet again another picture of my fave fish noodles in SS20.

Tried a different fish main at Yeast one night, tho i still prefer their salmon.

A new favourite i now order at Fat Spoon, is the Moo Moo Rice Bowl! Tender pieces of beef and fried egg with runny yolk on rice with sambal belacan.

That week when i was sick, my mom cooked me fish head curry :*)

On another weekend when my brother was back, she cooked us dinner. Nothing like home-cooked food!

Made myself an ox-tongue sandwich at home with French mayo and mustard.

Shaun gave me a great carbonara recipe one day, where it’s a tad more taxing, but makes it taste like it came from a restaurant!

One semangat day, i cooked Clem and i breakfast on Sunday cos i happened to have all the ingredients i needed. On the top is egg yolk baked in avocado.

Still doing a tenderloin steak for dinner once in a while when i feel we should have some red meat.

One of our favorites is my mum’s bean paste and chili pork recipe.

I always get hungry around 5pm, so i made myself a fried egg sandwich cos Yishyene said it’s so good. I added Gouda and french mayo on melted butter toast.

On a good day, i had a strawberry and pine nut salad cos i was eating way too much for a few days.

On a naughty day, i put more whipped cream than ice cream into a bowl and have maybe two servings in a row.

:p

The food looks really awesome! I like dipping fried man tous in crab sauce too! If you ever come to Singapore, you should try the salted egg crabs! Super noms!
