Cho Wei and i had lunch together last week. It’s like we meet up every year to catch up in a shot, so i’m trying to put a stop to that and see him more often. He really wanted Thai food. And some friends suggested My Elephant in Hartamas since we both haven’t tried it before. It was very disappointing and i’m never going back! Hence no pix of their food here.
But. NEXT to My Elephant is Fru-t-pop, a cheerful cafe we went into for some post-lunch coffee.
They make 100% fruit lollies with no colouring or flavouring, so it’s really healthy stuff.
I got a starfruit + mango + pineapple one
Had a nice chat with Ralph, who told us he and his wife run the place – which also stocks frutpops for schools, and caters to community events and parties. I like how personal the cafe is, with pictures of their children eating frutpops hanging on the wall.

For a rush lunch before catching a movie with Kevin at Paradigm Mall one day, we popped into Sushi Zanmai for some cheap fail-proof sushi.
I LOVE IKURA SO MUCH. I always eat them one by one so i can pop them in my mouth.
Tried their octopus sashimi for the first time. I still prefer grilled octopus tho!

Clem has been wanting to go to Chalet Suisse in Ampang for ages, cos he loves cheese so much (but easy cheese like raclette or gouda, he doesn’t touch the camembert or roquefort i buy). Had a quiet dinner with the Loh Lohs one Sat night. Well. As quiet as it could be with Clem and Cammy trying to stab each other with the fondue forks -_-
Clem started with some raclette. I tried it, was yummy.
Cammy and i share seafood bisque and escargots. Both were great, especially the soup. One of the best i’ve had in KL.
We shared a fondue, along with Kenny having a steak and the girls a pasta. Pasta not great. Fondue was yummmms but superjelak after a while. It’s huge so you gotta share this with a group of people, or just have this as a couple and no starters.

Since i’m back to freelancing now, i have the time to have breakfast every morning, and even make myself scrambled eggs with onions and jambon when i’m bored of my organic cereal and hazelnut milk. ๐

The last party we had was Chinese New Year… and since my brother was back last weekend, i thought it’d be nice to have him and some people over. Our invite list always starts at 10… and ends up at 18-20.
We served up French hams, fromage, foie gras, duck confit and potatoes, roast chili & onion chicken and sausages, and pear & onion salad.

Today i had lunch with CC. Checkout her Beckham sunnies phooyoh!
We went to Ben’s. I had pasta and riesling. I ALWAYS order the soft shell crab and chili pasta there… till i decided to give their seafood pasta a shot and it was fab. I managed to break out of my ordering habit there!
