Scarlet is the name of LG’s new 37″ LCD TV.
Man, names of their products are getting more and more leet.
At only 45mm thick, the LG Scarlet has illuminated LED touch sensor indicators that turn the television on and off. What?!
It also has another sensor that analyzes ambient light to adjust the brightness of the screen.
By detecting the external environment lighting, the TV automatically switches to what would be the best colour quality available for that moment.
And because of that feature, it reduces power consumption by up to 50%.
That, i like.
Plus, it’s got hidden attitude – the rear of the TV is vibrant red.
Sorry, you know how girls are.
Colour of gadgets have a place of importance and to have a black TV that’s secretly red at the back?
Bloody. Sweet.
TV aside, let me tell you about their Hi-Fi.
It’s doesn’t have a cemerlang name, rather, going back to random letters and numbers – the Micro FB163.
It reminds me of the LG Secret due to the glossy black surface and even has touch-sensitive controls.
As you can see in the picture, you’re able to play your iPod on it (I SO NEED THIS IN MY ROOM!) as well as CDs, DVDs and digital music files.
Quoted by Ella Morton on cnet.com.au – “A curious attribute is the CD-to-MP3 converter, which will turn your disc-bound tunes into neat little digital files. Of course, you could always just rip CDs on your computer – allowing for more flexibility in terms of file format, bitrate and ID3 tags – but hey, it’s nice to have options.”
So now you must be wondering, what’s she going on and on about the products for?!
Reason being, LG’s holding a contest where they’re giving TVs and Hi-fis away!
When i first clicked on the website, it showed a girl called Scarlet.
So wait.
The TV’s called Scarlet?
And the girl’s called Scarlet as well?
That’s right.
LG has gone so far as to have action snippets filmed to be used for their contest.
Directed by David Nutter, actress Natassia Malth (what a mouthful!) plays Scarlet in the videos.
With the grand prize being the LG Scarlet (TV, not the chick); weekly prizes of the Wi-fi will be given out to the Director of the video that receives the most votes (accummulated).
Directing the video is easier than it sounds.
At first, i was like, “Huh? Oh man, i gotta go fiddle with this damn thing!”
But after getting into it, it’s super easy.
You’ve got all these snippets to choose from and arrange in order, before chucking in script you come up with to go into the speech bubbles.
Kinda like a comic, really.
You can view the videos others have created *here*
Mine’s somewhere there too.
If you reckon being creative isn’t your thing to win this contest, fret not!
You can enter as a Fan as well:
You just have to register, vote for your favourite video and get more friends to do the same and win!
Earlier i mentioned that a Wifi goes out weekly to a Director, same goes for Fans. Fans with the most viral (accumulated) will receive one too.
At the end of the contest, the Director with the highest overall number of votes and the Fan with the most overall viral number will each win the Grand Prize – LG Scarlet TV.
Vote for me! I’m not being greedy as to aim for the TV (okay, fine, it won’t fit in my room with all the clothes i have) but i think the Hi-fi would look perfect
