Taken within the past month, i just realised how drastically my hairstyle changes within 30 days!

I look like a kid here. I remember i wore this on the day of the first Cat Got Your Tongue and wanted something comfortable to run around and set up in.

The day i walked into the office wearing the outfit below, SarChan yelled, “Brazil! Brazil!!!” making me feel like i was going to break into festival dance with fruits on my head.

it came with a black cloth belt which i didn’t fancy around my waist so i merely strung it around my neck as a thin scarf

I call the orange necklace my ‘ikura’ necklace, cos it so looks like my fave salmon roe.

I still think i’m horrible at posing. Every time SarChan helps me take a picture, she’ll go, “C’mon, pose!”
Me: Er… ar… ugh!
SarChan: Come on! You pose for magazines all the time!
Me: That’s different… i have someone telling me what to do..!

It’s as if you caught me waiting at a bus stop.

No Christmas For Me, a song she wrote and composed herself shot her to YouTube superstardom. Uploaded eight months ago, the video has had almost 700,000 views, igniting interest from recording labels.

Instead of being a musician who had to clamour for a label’s attention to sign her up, Zee Avi/KokoKaina had it the other way round. Labels were chasing her to sign up with them.

In the end, she chose to sign with Brushfire Records, Jack Johnson‘s record label.

When she came to the office that day, Zee had just got back from L.A. where they’d set her up performing gigs.

I reminded her of the first time i’d heard her sing, on the beach in Kuching a couple of years ago, “Do you remember? I took a video of you singing cos it was SO good and asked you why you never thought of being a musician!”
“I think that’s one of the first few videos of me singing..!”
“Cool. I’ll wait till you get more famous then i’ll sell it off ha ha!”
