“Are you voting?” asked PGA, when i bumped into him in Aaliya last night.
“Of course! Who’re you voting for?”
“Roket!”
It seems to me that the majority of my friends are going leftist. A huge majority, in fact. It’s as if voting for opposition has become the new clubbing cool.
“This is so exciting… imagine if emergency is declared, we don’t have to go to work!” exclaimed Priya in the office mid-week.
“Are you crazy…” my heart tightened slightly imagining if emergency actually got declared.

I dragged PassedOutBen to accompany me before we had PassedOutBen’s Day Out (a day i put off just to spend time with him).
“Okay the thing that irritates me are all these BN ads in my face all the time and on the radio… To bring Malaysia forward, vote for BN, what the hell… like as if there aren’t any other parties to vote for.”
“There, another one,” he gestured at a huge BN billboard we drove past.
We arrived at the school in my neighbourhood, POB grumbling about his hunger.
“Sorry… we eat in a while k?” I pacified him, “This is important!”
“It’s just one vote. It won’t change anything.”
*GASP!*
My face changed so drastically and i gasped so loud, he laughed.
As we walked towards the school gate, i giggled at these leaflets Nando’s was giving out about some chicken promotion and text saying, “Left wing or right wing?” with crosses next to chicken wings.
Funny.
Walking through the school gates, i blared about how i should have changed (maybe) before going there.
“Oh great. I’m wearing a strapless dress with no bra in a melayu school. I feel so wrong.”
He assured me i didn’t have nipple-itis.
POB looked up at a huge billboard in the school stating it was a non-smoking area.
“Dilarang merokok…” he spoke to himself, “Yeah yeah i get it, i get it -_-“
“Don’t smoke for ten minutes won’t die right. -_-“
I registered, got my classroom number and dropped my vote in.
“I wish i brought a pen… does it all have to be ticked in pencil?”
“Yeah. So they can change it.”
“Fucker don’t say that. Man…”

My father was asking me whether they wrote a number on my ballot.
I admitted i didn’t notice and he told me that my uncle and aunty felt uneasy their registration numbers were written on their ballots.
“It’s supposed to be anonymous votes wut, if they wanted to know there aren’t going to be forges, why can’t they put serial numbers instead.”

Overheard:
“Who’re you voting for?”
“DAP.”
“Why la?”
“I have my reasons, but besides that, the guy from BN looks like he’s a character from Spongebob Squarepants, macam no calibre.”

So crazy.
Opposition has won 24 out of the 40 seats in Penang (second time in history) and my parents are freaking.
A friend who works for DAP passed the news that opp has won all the seats in Federal Territory as well (note: this is all word of mouth for now)
My father is commenting in somewhat disgruntlement how come the news and official websites don’t report opposition’s winnings and seem to be mentioning only BN’s wins. When on MalaysianKini you can see the majority of seats opposition has won. Talk about bias.
“Hey look, that blogger Jeff Ooi is winning! When are you going into politics?” asked my dad.
“Oh my god please, never. I’ll just stick to my fashion.”
โOh great. Iโm wearing a strapless dress with no bra in a melayu school. I feel so wrong.โ
now, that is sexy. ๐
that is salah la -_-
