Alamak, Crybaby.

Even though i read The Kite Runner and cried throughout my Koh Samui trip (when noone was watching), I just *had* to bring along Khaled Hosseini’s second book, A Thousand Splendid Suns, to Bangkok (cos i never have time to read in KL)

And cried again.
-_-

I read on my bed, my back turned to the others as they got ready to go out.

I sat alone in the airport whilst the others ran around duty-free, and had an Irish coffee at 8 am.
It was so sad and engrossing, i couldn’t help weeping into my dress.

I wept again in the plane.
And on the bus.
Onto my sunglasses.
Onto my dress.
Onto the book.

It’s a powerfully depressing book that really drew me in to the plights and reality of all during the war.
Plights that we wave away recklessly cos of what we have now.
Things that we will never truly grasp because we never had to go through it (and heaven forbid, we won’t have to).

I reckon all the stories are going to stick in my mind for a long while.

Next trip i have to bring a happy book
It’s not such a great idea to flop around, sigh and weep during a holiday..!

I Want To Lay It All Out

“When i go home, i usually lay all the things i bought on the floor, and grin. Damn puas,” said IceCalvin.

I wanna lay out and play with all my new clothes and things too!
But i have to dig out my laptop and notes and… go to the office now.

Sigh… work.
Which is what pays for my shopping sprees.
:p

I’m halfway through kite runner and I’m loving every bit of it. However it’s taking me ages, what with all the hustle bustle. Can you send the second book to Melbourne for me? =)

    Dear Joyce,

This has got nothing to do with the post but there is no other way to contact you.

Theo, Mooky’s colleague here. You know, the one who needed help desperately with his last-minute party planning.

Thank you so much for passing me Ken Somo’s number. Finally have a proper running party. My employment status was literally hanging in the balance. So therefore, i owe you a drink. Big time.

    =)
