Exactly a year ago, Joyce was unemployed (hmm some things haven’t changed! Okay okay. Maybe now it’s self-employed)
And discovered the glory of eating cold food

After Two Years

Of being blessed with never having to draw figures anymore at college
Smellie and i impulsively dived into figure-drawing late one night

“i love bubur McDs.”

What a BUTT UGLY picture

It looks nothing like me!
If this is how you see me then i gather we have to rethink where our relationship is going! *sulks*

I grabbed the book and pencil away from him and offered to sketch him nekkid
But he complained it was cold
So never mind

I drew his head (the more decent one)

Ahaha. When i wrote that, i cocked my head to one side thinking
The more decent one… which one which one?!?! HAHAHA…

*cough*

Sorry
So yeah i drew… him

Come to think of it, my skills have so diminished from the likes of work like this:

Then again, i’d rather be taking photographs and writing
Rather then being forced to draw eight figures a week, two hours per figure
I love drawing and painting
I just don’t want to be forced into it
The weirdest times i draw sometimes is like say, four in the morning when i came back from clubbing

I just suddenly felt like sketching a fairy
So i sprawled myself on the icy cold marble floor
And drew her figure, her slim hands, her pointy ears, her delicate wings
Till the sun rose
And the marble floor wasn’t so cold anymore

A Fine Balance, I Say!

My parents were going off to Angkor Wat
The best thing is they love telling me things like this super last minute, even if it involves me (unfortunately this time it didn’t)

A good example would be family dinners
Say for instance, family dinner is at 7 pm
I get a call at 6:30 pm from my dad asking me whether i’m going for big family dinner
What family dinner? i say
Family dinner now la, he goes
Walau, i’m in kl now, cannot tell me earlier issit! i screech

Anyway some time back, Daddy tells me

“Oh we’re going to Angkor Wat.”
“Ha?! When?”
“—– to —–“
“What about ME?!”
“You stay here la.”
“Whyyyyyy…. but i’m freelancing! See, this is the best part of freelancing, i’m free to go along on your holidays with you and mommy!”
“Freelancing freelancing. Stay here and work la.”
“*sob* Who else is going?”
“Well. At first just supposed to be Uncle Yeepak and me. Then suddenly Mommy and Aunty Cat wants to come along. Then when Mama heard that, she and Grand Aunt wants to come along too. So suddenly it’s a big family holiday,” he said sheepishly
“What! I also wanna go… You’re bringing your wife AND your mother along… you should bring your daughter along for good balance!”
…. dunnit.”
“……”

The horrors of growing up.

Parents don’t feel obligated to bring you along for holidays anymore… in fact, okay la yeah it should be the other way round.
*I* should be bringing them for holidays
>_<

Hmm
Just bumming at home cos i’m too lazy to move now
Will prollie go out later… feel itchy to socialise and drink tonight
Haven’t done it all week!

Drove WaiWah’s car last night
“Come come let me drive your car!”
“Okay…”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, why not.”

So i happily whizzed his Myvi on the highway

“How long have you been driving anyway?” he asked
“I just passed my exam this week!” i said gleefully
“…. ….”

QueenKanch and me going up to Genting tomorrow for the Chivas party
I have to go for work
She wants to go to gamble (the chinese side of her coming out)
So the Chivas party is more like a, “Oh and there was that too…”

I wonder whether there’ll be freeflow
*puckers thoughtfully*

  15. eh tht girl sketch remind me of the good old days of when I had to sketch for 4 hrs, every week, during class. hahaha…

Oh then there was drawing homework. Which I loved!

Always got my hands so dirty with the pencil leads.

I miss… hardly draw anymore now.

Except for *someone’s* butterfly tattoo design, which I have… somewhere.

*thoughts fly away to being semi nude on Scarborough beach whilst cuci-ing mata to the hot hot surfer dudes.

  23. […] I dunno la, i layered and layered. Let it dry. Layered some more. Then i realised it looked too complicated (read: like someone shat on it) when i stepped back. Rectify. Headache! Oils are fun, but pencil is definitely easier to manipulate! […]
